I haven't even been on this website for a very long time. I can't believe that a year of college has gone by already. I have been practicing my photography skills and I guess one of the reasons I haven't been on this site is that I started a photography blog to show everything that I have been up to. I am now an art major at my university with a concentration in photography. I'm not sure if I want to pursue a fine arts degree yet but it's too early to decide that yet either way. But, yeah, photography is definitely in my future.

I am still using my Canon Rebel XT which I love so much, but will probably upgrade by the time I'm out of college, maybe even before.

I am so excited about this summer because of some major purchases I am going to be making! First if all I am going to be buying a 50mm f/1.8 lens for my camera (I've also started to learn how to use film). I am beyond excited about this. I've taken some pretty great pictures with my current lenses (one of my photos was even picked to be published in a book!!)  but I don't own any high quality prime lenses yet and I am dying to have this one since it is a good all-purpose type lens. Then at the end of the summer I am going to be buying a brand new computer and maybe some photo-processing software!

Anyway, my photography dreams are all about to come true and I'll make sure to post some photos that I've taken recently sometime very soon

I am beyond excited!! It's already been a couple of days and I'm still psyched. I managed to buy a Canon Rebel XT for $200 from my godmother's fiance. I know it isn't the camera that makes the photo, but the actual photographer herself, but it's a lot easier to take beautiful pictures when I have a camera to do so And I'm glad this time I got and SLR. If this is going to be my chosen career path, I have a lot of learning to catch up on and I'm doing my best to do that.

I recently lost the converter for my camera so that I can use my micro SD card so I can't take pictures right now. If I happen to find it in the near futire then I can start working on my photography, but if not then I will have to wait for June 10th when I will be getting the Pentax K-x for a graduation present and which I'm totally stoked about!!! And then my career as a photographer begins. Oh, that's right. I got accepted into FIU and will be majoring in Art with a track in Photography and minoring in Entrepreneurship. So lets see how that goes

Whenever I get bored, I sometimes feel like I am not any kind of artist at all. And I can't just take up my sketchbook and start to draw because I know I'll hate everything I try to depict. The thing is that I've always been more of a talented writer than artist... So when I get bored I feed off of my more powerful talents. What I like to do is create this alternate world or setting, with a main character and I basically write out their lives. Sometimes like a normal novel, sometimes minute by minute and sometimes in dialogue form. Doing this gives me an escape from reality and lets me pretend to be someone else for a little while at least. So, yeah I'm bored again. And that is how Aggie the faerie came to life.

I've known a couple people who have actually had deviantart accounts and I don't know why but I never though of jumping on the bandwagon until today. So I started by uploading some of my photos and some photos of me taken by a friend that she allowed me to mess with on photoshop and see if I get any feedback. I'm really just an amateur photographer, never even taken a photo class in school, but I'm trying to learn and am even thinking about taking on a career in that direction. The big cahoona of a dream would be to be an on-staff photographer for National Geographic Magazine. So we'll see what happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
